Join the Movement: Become a Member Organization

The Maine Trails Coalition (MTC) is a collaborative force, and our strength lies in the diversity and dedication of our partners. We invite organizations from across the state to join us in our mission to protect, promote, and grow Maine’s network of local and regional trails.

Who should join?

Membership is open to organizations deeply committed to the stewardship and advancement of Maine trails, including:
  • Advocates: Trail user groups, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Business Partners: Trail-related businesses and philanthropic organizations.
  • Land Managers: Land trusts, easement monitoring agents, and private land managers.
  • Wabanaki Nations and Indigenous partners.
We look for partners who are ready to amplify MTC’s mission through their own advocacy, outreach, and educational efforts.

Active Partnership

MTC member organizations help shape the future of Maine’s trails by:
  • Lending their voices: Engaging in strategic teams and leadership groups to influence statewide trail policy.
  • Investing in success: Contributing vital resources, whether through financial support, volunteer hours, or in-kind expertise.

How do individual trail lovers fit in?

First and foremost, we encourage you to join your local trail clubs and stewardship groups! Whether you're a dog walker or someone with a garage full of motorized recreational vehicles, there's a club or nonprofit or land trust or other entity maintaining your favorite trails. Show your support for those local groups by becoming a member, signing up for newsletters, volunteering, and contributing funds if you are able! And please encourage them to be part of the Maine Trails Coalition.

Folks who love trails can also participate in MTC. Your support fuels our mission! We welcome you to sign up for newsletters, volunteer, and consider contributing to support statewide trails advocacy. Follow us on social media and advocate for trails in your community!
